S1 AV Actress Hana Kuraki Reportedly Found Dead
Since September 12, 2026, a report has been widely circulating on Japanese social media and online media claiming that Hana Kuraki, a popular AV actress from S1, was found dead in an apartment belonging to a well-known young host in the Kabukicho district. It is suspected that she may have taken her own life.
However, there has yet to be any official statement from either the police or her agency regarding the matter. Nevertheless, the case has sparked intense discussion online concerning violence and alleged threats of extortion.
The reason the story gained so much attention is that the first person to post information about the incident was Sakito, the owner of a host club and a fighter who has appeared on the popular television program BreakingDown. He reported on the incident and stated that she was found in an apartment rented under the name of Shota Taira, a top host at L's Collection in Kabukicho.
Sakito said that he was not the first person to discover her body. According to him, a friend of hers found the body and contacted him, prompting him to rush to the scene. He contacted Shota, but Shota claimed that he was in a meeting. Sakito therefore took responsibility for coordinating with the police officers and investigators handling the incident.
Sakito added that he had regularly listened to Hana confide in him about her relationship with Shota and was aware that she had been suffering greatly. He also expressed considerable disappointment that Shota had made negative comments about him, as the two had previously considered each other friends. However, he emphasized that the most important thing was to consider the feelings of the late Hana, as well as those of her family and friends, rather than fueling the rumors.
“I was deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear of Hana Kuraki’s passing. I would like to express my deepest condolences.”
He concluded his statement with those words. However, because Sakito is a public figure, the fact that he was the one who reported the information caused the rumor to spread rapidly, leading to various speculations about the possible cause.
One of the claims concerns a post Hana Kuraki made on social media announcing that she was suddenly canceling a fan meeting because she had been involved in a car accident and suffered injuries to her face and jaw. Some people believe that these injuries were actually caused by Shota Taira, who allegedly had an argument with Hana and drove away while she followed him, causing her body to be dragged along the road.
The account of Orihara (@orihara_bakura), which focuses on exposing the darker side of the AV industry, published documents concerning an out-of-court settlement in a case involving physical assault and theft, as well as an apology letter from Taira. Those following the case have pointed out that using money to silence people and cover up incidents of violence is allegedly a common tactic in the darker side of the nightlife entertainment business.
Hana Kuraki was born in Kanagawa Prefecture and debuted as an AV actress for S1 in May 2024. Before that, she attended beauty school and worked for a period of time as a hairdresser’s assistant and makeup artist. She quickly became a well-known AV actress. In addition to releasing photobooks and appearing on television programs, she was also selected as one of the brand ambassadors for the 2026 Taiwan Adult Expo. She was 25 years old at the time.
Meanwhile, Shota Taira, the man allegedly involved in the case, is a well-known host in Kabukicho. He was reportedly a former idol and earned more than 200 million yen in his first year as a host. He also held the position of the highest-earning host in his group in 2025. Most recently, his story was featured on AbemaTV, where he was presented as a “top host” among more than 1,700 hosts.
Although this remains a rumor, because the information was confirmed by a public figure who was willing to disclose the names of the people involved, the report is likely to be true, with only official confirmation from her agency and the police still pending.
